ABOUT CODY

Cody is currently completing his BA Honours Degree in Music Performance (Drums) at ACM. Studying under tutors such as Windsor McGilvray (Hugh Cornwell, Dr. John Cooper Clark, Fish), Danny Mullowney (Universal Records, Micheal Feinstein, Judy Carmichael), Toby Drummond (Cliff Richard, Wicked, Lion King, Chicago), Brian Henry (Soul 2 Soul, Brand New Heavies, Incognito) and George Cook (The Japanese House, Eminem, Birdy).  He has picked up a wide range of techniques and approaches to constantly further his playing and be an adaptable drummer within the contemporary music industry. Cody has also had a lot of studio experience working alongside the likes of John Gallen (Queen, Simply Red, George Benson, Rick Astly, Boy George, Motorhead) and Gary Bromham (Steve Gadd, U2, Bjork, Sheryl Crow, Maccabees, SVK, George Micheal). Cody has been featured on BBC Music Introducing Live Lounge, as well as numeorus magazines (Discovered, Stencil Magazine etc.) and gaining 20,000+ streams on Spotify for artists that he has recorded for (FOLLOWER, HOMEBLOOD, Georgina Parkinson etc.). Also working as a freelancer, Cody has played with many other bands/artists like Skata Tones who have supported the likes of Madness, Lee Scratch Perry and Gentleman’s Dub Club. Cody played with them during multiple festivals, the favourite being “Wychwood Festival” (Buzzcocks, Billy Bragg, Levellers, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark etc), MEGZZ who has recently played the o2 Academy (Oxford), ALICE NOBLE, LUCAS RAMSELL, PEAGYPT, I SEE SHAPES, HOMEBLOOD (who have supported the likes of Mallory Knox, Crazy Town and played at the Marshal Live Festival) and many more and Laulia who have played multiple festivals like Camden Rocks, B Love and have played numerous BBC introducing stages around southern UK.

Working predominantly in the studio and playing live, Cody focuses on finding out ways to achieve new sounds from the kit, sounding consistent and being stylistically appropriated to the music he is playing. He has spent a lot of his time researching and playing his instrument to gain the best sound possible and to best adapt to every genre of music. Cody has good knowledge in production, using DAW software (Logic Pro X) and electrical equipment (SPD-SX, External Triggering Pads etc) and actively uses them in his sessions.

‘Cody is a versatile and talented musician. I have recorded him on numerous occasions and have found him to have a positive and professional attitude in the studio’ - John Gallen

‘Cody is a fantastic drummer and has been a pleasure to work with at the ACM. Cody has a natural ability with the kit, strong work ethic & professional attitude. Cody is certainly a drummer to look out for in the future’ - Toby Drummond (The Seahorses, Shaun Ryder, Ray Davies, Russell Watson, Cliff Richard)
